Remote Video Visit LPN

Support video-based patient encounters from start to finish — preparing patients before visits, assisting virtual clinicians during encounters, and coordinating follow-up care from home.

$25–$38 / hour 100% Remote Full-Time / Part-Time Multiple U.S. States

Job Overview

Virelia Health connects healthcare professionals with opportunities across video-based care delivery, telehealth, and virtual-first clinical programs.

We are seeking qualified LVNs/LPNs for remote video visit opportunities supporting health systems, telehealth companies, and virtual-first clinics that deliver scheduled video consultations to patients.

A Remote Video Visit LPN is dedicated to a specific type of encounter — the video visit itself. From pre-visit preparation through post-visit follow-up, this role makes sure every video encounter runs smoothly: patients are ready, technology works, clinicians have what they need, and follow-up happens on schedule.

This position is well-suited to an LVN who enjoys structured, appointment-based virtual work — the kind of nurse who thrives when each patient encounter has a clear beginning, middle, and end.

The specific program, patient population, video platform, and scope of responsibilities will depend on the employer and assignment.

This opportunity may be suitable for professionals searching for remote video visit LPN jobs, remote video visit nurse, work-from-home video visit LPN, remote video consultation LPN, or virtual visit support nurse roles.

Appointment-Driven Schedule with Predictable Blocks

Video visit programs are built around scheduled appointment slots, which means your day is genuinely predictable — you know exactly how many visits you'll support and when they'll happen. Most programs offer fixed shifts (6, 8, or 10 hours), weekday blocks, and extended-hours options for patients who need after-work video visits. Weekend coverage is also available in some programs. We offer both full-time and part-time positions, and many video visit LPNs work 4-day or compressed weeks. Discuss your ideal schedule during your interview.

What You'll Do

As a Remote Video Visit LPN, you support the entire lifecycle of each video visit — before, during, and after the encounter.

  • Prepare patients for upcoming video visits — confirming appointment times, reviewing the reason for visit, and validating that their device and internet connection work.
  • Walk patients through video platform setup, including camera, microphone, and login procedures.
  • Join or support video visits alongside virtual clinicians as needed by the program.
  • Provide in-visit assistance: reviewing the patient's chart, documenting key details, and preparing the clinician with relevant history.
  • Reinforce provider instructions after the visit — medications, follow-up steps, red-flag symptoms, and when to seek care.
  • Coordinate post-visit actions: referrals, labs, imaging, specialist appointments, and pharmacy follow-up.
  • Document each video encounter accurately in the EHR and video visit platform.
  • Answer routine patient questions between visits through secure messaging and patient portal outreach.
  • Escalate clinical concerns, new symptoms, or care-plan questions to an RN or provider.
  • Track no-shows and missed video visits and follow up with patients to reschedule.
  • Coordinate with scheduling, care management, and interpreter services teams.
  • Protect patient privacy and follow HIPAA requirements across every video interaction.

Video Visit Focus

Video visits are one of the fastest-growing forms of clinical care — allowing patients to meet with providers from home for routine follow-ups, chronic condition management, mental health visits, and specialty consultations. The video visit LPN ensures each encounter runs smoothly from the patient's perspective and the clinician's.

Depending on the program, video visit support may include:

Pre-visit readiness
In-visit clinical support
Chart preparation
Patient troubleshooting
Post-visit follow-up
Visit coordination

The LPN/LVN's role is to support the video encounter — not to independently conduct visits, diagnose, or prescribe. Any clinical judgment that exceeds the LPN/LVN scope is escalated to an RN or provider.

This structure keeps the role focused on visit preparation, in-visit support, documentation, patient education, and appropriate escalation.

Patient Preparation & Technology Support

A successful video visit depends on technology working properly — and patients feeling confident using it.

You may help patients:

  • Log into the video visit platform for the first time or re-establish access.
  • Test their camera, microphone, and internet connection before the visit.
  • Understand how to share documents, images, or readings during the visit.
  • Prepare a list of questions or symptoms to discuss with the provider.
  • Have a private, quiet, well-lit space for the visit.
  • Know what to do if the video visit disconnects or freezes.
  • Arrange interpreter services or family participation when needed.

Comfort with video technology — and clear patience with patients who are less comfortable with it — is essential to this role.

Video Visit Workflow

A Remote Video Visit LPN may follow a structured workflow across each video encounter.

Depending on the employer's protocols, you may:

Review Schedule Pre-Visit Contact Tech Check In-Visit Support Post-Visit Follow-Up Document Encounter Escalate If Needed

Video Visits Are Not Emergencies

If a patient presents with emergency symptoms during a video visit, the visit is immediately escalated per the employer's emergency process — video is not a substitute for emergency medical evaluation.

Required Qualifications

  • Current LPN or LVN license applicable to the specific assignment.
  • Nursing education appropriate for LPN/LVN practice.
  • Clinical nursing experience with patient communication or video-based care exposure.
  • Comfortable with video platforms, EHR systems, and patient portals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to guide patients through technology troubleshooting patiently.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to recognize situations requiring clinical escalation.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

A Typical Day

A typical day may begin by reviewing the day's video visit schedule — checking patient names, visit reasons, and any pre-visit questionnaires or portal messages.

You'll reach out to each patient before their appointment to confirm technology works, walk them through the video platform if needed, and make sure they have a private, quiet space.

During visits, you may join alongside the provider to help with documentation, chart review, and coordination. Between visits, you follow up with patients after their encounters — reinforcing instructions, scheduling referrals, and answering portal messages.

At the end of each day, you'll close out your documentation and flag anything that needs clinical escalation.

The role combines visit preparation, technology support, in-visit assistance, follow-up coordination, documentation, and appropriate escalation.

Unlike more open-ended telehealth roles, video visit LPN work is structured around scheduled appointments — with a clear start and finish to every patient encounter.

Remote Work Environment

This position is designed for remote video visit support.

Depending on the employer, you may work with:

Video visit platforms
Electronic health records
Patient portals
Secure messaging systems

Candidates should be comfortable with video platforms and multiple digital systems, and comfortable troubleshooting basic patient technology issues.

Top-demand states: California, Texas, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, Massachusetts.

Strong secondary markets: Colorado, Connecticut, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin.
